The first generation of the muscle or pony cars available for $2,368 in 1964 (the Camaro etc were designed as competition in light of it’s success).

Possibly most famous for it’s part in the Oscar winning film Bullitt, with it’s legendary car chase.

Contrary to popular belief McQueen only did about 10% of the driving. Bud Ekins was the stunt driver (& can also be seen falling off a bike during the chase).

The mustang was unable to compete with the Charger in the straights, but cornered better.

Of the 2 cars used, the first was written off during filming, the second is said to be rotting in a barn .
